When you create a new product, ThriveCart gives you the option to choose whether it will be physical or digital. If at some point you change your mind and want to change these options, you can do so. The only thing you will have to change is the shipping options, since digital products are delivered in a different way (online).

Thrivecart Bump Offers


This type of product or offer allows you to show complementary products in the checkout or payment form. These products are displayed on the checkout page with an option to allow the customer to add the extra product to their order. One click and we are adding this other product or this offer to the cart.

Generally; bump offers are offered at lower prices than the initial product and are usually related products or upgrades to what was initially purchased. Marketing studies have shown that psychologically this type of offer or option is a more effective way to increase a customer’s purchases; and at the same time it makes you money.

For example if you sell courses or infoproducts you can offer the possibility to buy related training or extra support. If you sell software or a SaaS you can add extra licenses for a lower price; or if you sell in an online store you can offer the possibility to buy another trial product or more units for a more attractive price. The options are endless.

Similarly, ThriveCart will give you the option to select a physical or digital product type in bump offer when you create your main product. If you need to, you can edit or change the product type by clicking the edit button next to the product type.

Thrivecart Upsell Offers


You may have heard of upsells but maybe you don’t identify this technique very well. Well, it is a very American reference, but it is often applied as a marketing strategy. It aims to increase the average ticket of online sales by increasing the buyer’s investment with your company; selling your products or your related services.

A clear example is when you buy a product and finalize the payment; the page instead of redirecting to the thank you site for your purchase, it tells you “Just a moment! Now you can upgrade your purchase with…”. This is when you can offer an upgrade to your purchase, but this time with a special one-time offer. Usually these upsells are a percentage of the price of the main product and serve to add functionality or enhance the shopping experience.

Thrivecart Downsells Offers


This option is often used in case the upsell offer is rejected; here the platform looks for a second chance, clarifying that it is less expensive, looking for a new sale that occurs when the buyer declines our upsell offer.

This means that the downsell is an extra that is related or connected to the main product but with a lower price than the upsell. For example; if you have a course, service or product for 1.000€, and your potential customers follow your sales sequence but do not buy; you can try to attract them with a downsell.

The idea of the downsell is to present an offer that is attractive to people who are not yet ready for the main offer. Maybe they were interested, but it wasn’t exactly for them at the time. Imagine you sell a high-ticket product but see that there is a problem in pricing; you could create a mini version at a lower cost for those customers and not lose them.

Thus, ThriveCart allows you to manage your products and have an automatic sales system based on your product ladder through Upsells and Downsells.

How to Use ThriveCart

  • The first thing to do is to create a product in the “Options” tab, enter its name, the URL that will take you to its Checkout or payment page, and the status, if it is still in test or if you are going to put it online.
  • In “Pricing”, the price, configuring if it is a single payment or if you prefer to give the option to pay in installments. In this tab you can also select to calculate taxes and fees automatically according to your location or even customize the invoice that will be sent to your customer.
  • In “Bump”, as I mentioned above in detail, you will be able to offer an extra at the moment of payment of this main product that you are configuring.
  • In “Processors”, the online payment or collection methods available for the sale of that product.
  • “Affiliates”, if you want that product to be sold by your collaborators or affiliates who take a commission. I will tell you about this in detail a little further down.

This refers to the checkout page, the final page your customer will see before finalizing the payment process.

ThriveCart works perfectly with WordPress and there are two ways to integrate it: The first way, is to create a page with a ThriveCart order form and host it through the ThriveCart server. From there, you can link to it from your website in the same way you would any other link; and when someone clicks on that link (which is probably on the product sales page), it will take them to your shopping cart.

The second option, (and the one I usually use) is ThriveCart’s HTML embed code. When you create your products and set up the checkout form, it will generate a code; which you can simply paste into your web page and then your cart will appear on the site where you pasted it.

The price has recently changed and as announced by the company it is going to become a monthly fee of about $95, like the rest of its competitors that charge month to month (e.g. Samcart). But you can still get the one-time license for only $495.

Mind you, you can also pay it in 2 installments of $250, less than $225.

It is a very good investment, as it will allow you to multiply your sales, and in just 6 months you will have amortized the payment by buying the license for life through a one-time payment, compared to what it will cost monthly in a short space of time.

In short, I sincerely believe that it is a tool that is very worthwhile if you do not have a suitable and secure online payment system for your digital business or if the one you have does not convince you because it does not convert.

ThriveCart Alternative

ThriveCart or Clickfunnels?


Clickfunnels for me is an interesting tool but it is still a Swiss army knife, it serves for everything but in the end it does not stand out especially in anything, neither as a design, nor as an integrator, nor as a payment platform.

Now then; Clickfunnels is an easy tool but expensive for what it has, besides its monthly fee is quite high and, if you want to have the same options that ThriveCart gives you, it will cost you much more.

In fact, if you take advantage of ThriveCart’s one-time payment offer; you will have paid for a tool that you will have forever for what 2 or 3 months of clickfunnels would cost you, I wouldn’t even think about it.

For me, the best option to get paid online right now is to combine ThriveCart with Active Campaign and Stripe; as everything integrates fantastically well.
